The Mel Brooks Formula for Jokes
I remember gearing up to watch Blazing Saddles. I thought, yeah, this is funny. There are funny jokes all the way through this. And yet, why am I not responding to this like it's that nuclear blast of comedy? Watching Mel Brooks's films, I have this thought every single time, which is, there's not enough jokes in this movie. With Airplane, the jokes come faster and the scenes are denser with jokes.
