The Power of Trophes

There's only so many ways you can get your hero from the bottom up to that top level where the main villain is he's got to have to go through a bunch of bad guys real. So you can't just kill the main bad guy over and over again, unless it's some kind of, I don't know, multiverse thing or something but that's even worse. But any gimmick device, MacGuffin genre, I think almost any of those can work. The new spider verse movie was good because it was about one guy going through a noir style futuristic adventure. And so that works better because it's about a human. That's what at least my take.
