The Clinical Presentation of Acetaminophen Poisoning
Dr. Austin: acetaminophen looks differently depending on how you were taking it and what you took. He says there's probably about 3 different scenarios that patients often present in. One is a single one-time ingestion with sort of suicidal intent or purposeful intent, he says. A second scenario is where somebody has taken super therapeutic doses of acetaminophen over a prolonged period of time,. And the final scenario might be the patient that is this sort of massive acetaminophen overdose., Dr. Austin says.
