Are We Keeping Inflation Expectations Anchored?

Central bankers like to think that, because we are credible, we're keeping inflation expectations anchored. But the curious thing is that when they actually poll the public and ask them, at least in the US, do you know about the Federal Reserve? So obviously, central bank credibility cannot be anchoring inflation expectations. It's going to be ultimately a political economy decision on how we make all these investments and allocate, I guess, the reduction in consumption. President Macron recently noted this is the end of abundance.
