The Importance of Sharing Decision-Making

The diagnosis of sarcoidosis is arbitrarily made when the statistical likelihood of alternative diagnosis becomes too small to warrant further investigation. So I prefer a biopsy early, but I agree with you. I think sometimes patients don't want to do that and are looking for you to reassure them that the odds are with them. Sometimes you'll make that decision for them. How do we actually make the diagnosis then, John?
