Sally Kohn: I was always uneasy about the way we economists, like we, you know, the mainstream economists into whose tribe were being co-opted as a student. So basically in order to tell you how to improve society, I need build economic agents. And your emphasis on critical and existential reflection is both critical to your picture of what human beings are or can be; that's something most forms of economics are missing. She says capitalism creates potentials and simultaneously obstructs their realization. The absence of which is what perpetuates this failure to realize a more emancipatory system.
