Measurement of Verbal and Spatial Abilities and the Verbal-Spatial Discrepancy

This chapter explores the measurement of verbal and spatial abilities using IQ subtests, including the perceptual reasoning index (PRI) and visual spatial tasks. It also discusses the clinical relevance of the verbal-spatial discrepancy in disorders such as nonverbal learning disability, autism, language disorder, and reading disorder, as well as the neural correlates and executive functioning associated with the discrepancy.
