The Treaty of White Tangy
In 1840, the Treaty of White Tangy was signed in New Zealand between the native Maori and the British settlers. Since Maori was an oral language at that time, how did the Maori chiefs personally sign the treaty other than with an ex? I've got my head in my hands because I have been to the treaty grounds. And I cannot remember this at all. It's a complete blank in my head.
