The Intermingling of Missile and Rocket Technology
The R7 missile was a family of rockets that is still in use today. And it was converted to carry Yuri Gagarin, the first astronaut. This was a Soviet way to show that we can use ICBMs to launch astronauts too. So here is where the intermingling of missile and rocket technology comes. It has its origins from destructive missiles which were repurposed for civilian technologies.
