The Meaning of the Feeding of the 5,000
The 4,000 represents Jesus taking the gospel to the whole earth. The 7 baskets is, a, it's complete. But prior to the 4, we have the 5. And that can be seen, at least in my mind's eye, the covenant Jews that are receiving the gospel and then they gather 12 baskets - kind of indicative of the 12 tribes. In other words, Jesus is using their tools and their ways of getting revelation. It's not that way to say, "It's my father," which is what Peter said.
