Oily fish consumption is very clearly associated with reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and mortality from cardiovascular disease. For about every 20 gram increase in oily fish a day this is associated with a 4% reduction in cardiovascular disease. Now there's also been some studies that have concluded that the effects of fish oil supplements are really small when it comes to cardiovascular disease and also mortality rates. Brilliant well I think it seems pretty clear that you know there's a potential for lots of benefits so why you know could this be causing division even amongst you know the scientists who are for example closely involved here at ZOE.
