The Idea of Humility in Tolkien

The idea of humility is something that we will see a second half of this chapter with Yavanda. It wasn't it was for no other reason than the humility, which goes hand in hand with the contrition that you pointed out in order to be contrite and one must be humble. That's true. Our story is very different, but it plays out similarly in terms of a request and a humble request. And so we'll get to that in a minute. But let's keep this thought, this idea of humility in mind. Well, and keep it in mind for a long time because pride will lead to stubbornness, recalcitrance, and eventually fall. Whereas humility and
