How to Write a Book About Financial Crime
I entered into writing about oligarchs with sort of the same kind of sense of furious. And it came as a bit of a shock to start getting these letters from, you know, reputation, management companies and libel firms telling me that I needed to change what I'd written or whatever. It's just something you need to do with like the weather, isn't it really? You know, I would prefer it if the law were otherwise, but it is what it is. So I try and find different tricks and tools to write what I want to write, but without incurring the rough of those lawyers. But there's a whole process of self-censorship that goes into the writing
