The Federal Government Shouldn't Forgive College Grasps
The money in question has already been spent. It can't be forgiven because it's already been handed out and handed over. If the debts that resulted are not collected from those who incurred them then other people will have to fill the gap. College graduates were not particularly inconvenienced by COVID. In fact they were helped by the federal government's decision to stop collecting loan payments, which two years plus later still obtains. Those college graduates have better job prospects, better earning prospects and better health outcomes than people who didn't go to college.
