The American Medical Association and the Reactionary Turn in Health Policy in the 20th Century
By the time we get to 19 twenties, that genuinely progressive american medical association starts to shift in its politics and its policy preferences. So maybe talk us through that, what happens and why? And then let's look a little bit what the effects of that reactionary turn are for efforts at health policy in the twentieth century. Im using words here that the institute of medicine im used in 19 88 to describe the am. The reaction term meant increasing and then friendliness, and ultimately a dense entanglements with the drug industry.
