The Importance of Responsibility in Borderline Personality Disorder
The criminal justice system is based on the idea of individual responsibility. To what extent is a person responsible for their early environment? Well, I would say not at all. We don't get to pick the genes that we inherit or the levels of prenatal hormones that our brains may be exposed to. And if there's evidence that they committed it, then we punish them.
