What's the Difference Between Songwriting and Songwriting?

Jason Mraz: Did you find yourself going through the same themes and issues by writing in literal terms as opposed to metaphor? The catharsis is exactly right word. Songwriting for me is primarily investigation, inquiry into the emotions around an issue. You know, why would you voice your meme wire? I call it a meme wire when it should really be a we more because I'm in loads of bands, actually.
