Most of my recent career has been in international recruiting. And I would say that probably 60%, 70% of the people I'm interviewing English is not their first language. Some of them speak it extremely well, and I don't have to worry about if I use colloquialisms. But a lot of employers, and obviously myself, when I'm interviewing people like that, we have to make allowances for this.
