Are You Third Wheeling or Are You a Troi Friend?

I feel like when it's just us I usually like pay for dinner unless it's with our friends or something but I try to offer to pay even now. My brother actually called me and my parents out on one thing where he was like dude I like watch you guys talk and you just like keep interrupting each other. And my dad was like no that's just like how Chinese is because like you say three words and you already know what the rest of the sentence is going to be. He's like blaming on the culture.
