Karl mark says capitalism is only an historically transient stage of development. And as he will come to show throughout the course of this text, it is actually geared towards its own undoing. The capitalist system is a system that produces commodities. So for different people, different commodities have use. For some one, a diamond necklace might not have any use, but for somebody else it might have whole lot of use,. whether it's demonstrating one's class position or anything like that.
