We tend to be afraid of things that we're not familiar with. And so if you're familiar with it, at least in my case, that caused a lessening of fear on that dimension. But I don't know. There are these existential thoughts that it brought about how ephemeral life is. Richard Dawkins quote: We were all going to die and we're the lucky ones.
