So i'd probably ask him, did you find some type of argument for the truth of atheism that is not just an argument against perfect being theism. The problem of evil is a prime example, biggest argument that atheists use against theism. But really it's an argument against a being that is both omnipotent and omni benevolent,. so all powerful and all good. That type of deity is not ruled out at all by this argument from evil or argument from suffering.
