In children, ligaments are so loose that they can slip their bone forward and mash their cord. Even the MRI can look normal and you don't see any changes. The exam will tip you off. You got to stabilize, decompress and stabilize. There's a lot of studies about how fast it needs to be within six hours or 24 hours.
