The Importance of the Church

John, I just want to underscore the importance of this issue. If we're going to say things that are characteristic negatively of evangelicals in America, one of them would be a lightness of their consideration of the church. And yet you can't read through the New Testament and think the church is anything other than hugely significant. How about church discipline in Acts 5? An anisles and the fire are killed by God because of sin in their local church. So it's not suggesting that God is, you know, dealing out death regularly in quid pro quo with certain sins in a search. We need to say whatever needs to be said right now to help people get saved.
