In 2000, the first group of researchers proposed the mitochondrial theory of bipolar disorder. Within a couple of years that quickly segued also to include schizophrenia. And within a few more years that quickly also included major depressive disorder. So depression, bipolar and schizophrenia have all had enormous support from numerous lines of evidence. It's not like I'm creating this new fanatical theory of what causes mental illness. I'm simply putting all of the foundation together and climbing up on other people's shoulders.
