We might adapt to somebody's bad humor, but not to their bad smell. So that would go along in the direction of saying that we're a little bit less perfectly rational, reasonable creatures than we'd like to think we are. We just have a very, very kind of abstract view of decision making when it comes to why we decide for certain things. And this is where it is actually interesting to look at what are the factors that make it into conscious decisions and be really influence our choices.
