The Patent for a Closing Locker for Shoes
In 18 93, Whitcomb l judson gets a patent for what he calls a clasp locker or unlocker for shoes. He had a sliding fastener operating a set of hooks and little eyelets. So it's still not really a modern zipper, but it's a lot closer. And he thought that was a way to fasten shoes. Inventor Catsu got credit for this and had very little influence on it.
