Defunding the Police Is a Continuum of Movement
A lot of well-meaning white people have come to me and said I don't understand the slogan it's too off-putting. defunding is a continuum of movement toward reimagining what safety means in communities that have not been protected from the police as an agent of violence. No institution has been as lethally violent as policing in America toward the Black community and communities of color so who am I to say you know that's not the right slogan?
