The Kentucky Derby has been held annually since what did it say? 1875. The horse race is sometimes called the run for the roses because when a horse wins, it gets a pretty necklace made of red roses to celebrate its big win. At the Kentucky Derby, people wear really fancy hats and stylish clothes. It's a special tradition for everyone, especially women to wear big and beautiful hats that make them look extra special.
