Philanthropy and Foundations Have the Benefit of Very Little Accountability

People want to see their money used in the most effective ways. People are concerned about reputational risk, that if they become very associated with an issue that later comes out to maybe not have worked then they will be gilt by association on that. And ishally, think taking risk is one of the real functions of philanthropy. It's looking at where does the private sector and the government fail in trying to address problems.
