Three years ago, when john bailey was still the president of the academy, they tried to introduce the idea of the popular oscar. The reason i think there was outcry is because that was not a very cleverly pitched idea. There's a wayt the number one category, to me, is like misy, best stunt which basically an optin for best live action seen. That is not why people t tune into oscars. They don't want to know what the public thinks is the most cool movie of the year.
