The Complexity of Prisons
Zimbardo didn't know anything about prisons. One thing that's very important, theyatually say, cturally, the stanford prison experiment is much closer to a p o w camp or a concentration camp than a prison. Prison therefore, does not necessarily lead to the strictest authoritarianism as embardo believes. It can just as much lead to collusion, compromise and appeasement. And the relationship between a human being and the structures of power around them is really complex.
