"It's better to be a complex organism that can feel more," he says. "There is an element in which as you complexify, you increase your moral scope." But it's not necessary because everything gets selected for 'survival of the stable', he adds. And so when push comes to shove, you have a choice, right? He concludes by saying we should try and live our best lives even if they are awful.
