The Effect of Minimum Wage on Nursing Homes
If every county increased its minimum wage by this 10% number, that there could be 15,000 fewer deaths in nursing homes each year across the country. Long-term care is a giant sector in the US; it currently accounts for 10% of all Medicaid and Medicare expenditures. A report predicted that the number of Americans needing long-term care will almost double by 2030.
