The Origins of Linguistic Constructions

The constructions you have there are specialized and you see something like a copula. And it's like, not obvious where it came from. It's true, though, that those things were all once recruited from somewhere else. I mean, pretty much, basically, everything was recruited from somewhere. But they're so far back in the midst of time and it's changed so much that you have no idea in many cases where they came from.
