Is There a Covenant With the Word Punishment?
Chris: It sounds to me like were sort of a agreement here on the everlasting fire. I was not arguing that the word punishment in matthew 25 forty six ought to be translated destruction. But argued was that the phrase eternal punishment only tells you something about the duration of the punishment at does not tell you what the nature of that punishment is. So ther it does imply that the punishment is death, but that's something that is informed by places that do tell us what thenature of that eternal punishment is. And i don't think that this is a sort of anything different than what chris is doing when he says that let's look these other passages.
