The voice that washingtonians overwhelmingly described as the most recognizable sound in d c was gone. This beautiful human voice had been replaced with text to speech. That experience stuck with me, and it got me thinking about the people behind some of the other train announcements around the world. I want to hear their stories, preferably before they get replaced by robots.
