Shambor Shkatt won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1996. Her first book, View with a Grain of Sand, was translated by Claire Kavanagh and Stanislaw Baranchak. "I do what I call sort of speed translations, poor translations, fast to just get inside another language," she says.
