Pilate's Compromises
In Matthew 27, 21, wither of the twain will ye that I really send to him, and they say barobus. He didn't get to free Jesus, which he wants to because he knows he's innocent. So then Pilate says in 22, again pleading with them, can I do the right thing? Will you let me do the right things and still like me? And they all say unto him, let him be crucified. Now he's using their own tradition to see if he can get them to not do this.
