I think people have always been kind of conspiracy minded. But now with the internet being able to spread information and disinformation a lot quicker, these things kind of take hold a lot quicker. Change in traditional media has led to individual walled gardens where people can gather and talk about things or choose a particular media outlet that they like. So it's kind of the nature of the information landscape that's changed in a way that allows conspiracies to grow a lot more than it could perhaps 20, 30 years ago.
