i think it's in the blind watchmaker, actually. He says we are the carriers for our ideas. We don't have the ideas. The ideas, as it were, just have us, in a sense. It's an exciting shift in thinking about what might be going on in relation to jeans,. or means and ourselves by turning it the other way round. And it has a explanatory power in doing that. But i think one of the reasons that dawkins may have given up on promoting his own account of means is because it changes our relationship to truth.
