The End of the War of the Currents

AC won out the war of the currents in 1889. Just a few short years when in 1889, the Edison machine works began using AC current. Thomas Edison did a street demonstration to try to show how DC actually wasn't dangerous and how it was safer than alternating current. There's a documentary called Electrocuting an Elephant from 1903 that details the story. The company was no longer run by Edison at this time. And maybe that is why they adopted the use of AC. It almost became a war of attrition.
