Do You Really Believe in Parental Rights?

Jay Parini: This is like a rehash of moral panics of yore, of course. Soer the argument was that gay people are going to recruit and corrupt your sterling, white, perfectly straight little children. But at the nominally more serious or careful level of mainstream g o p politicians, it manifests as an argument about parental rights, right? Your right to control your child's education, to sort of dictate their future. And i've seen many liberals, in leftists make the unfortunate mistake of engaging with these arguments in good faith,. Do not waste your time and energy. They're totally full of shit.
