The Absolute Number of Great Engineers to Great Startups
The ratio of great engineers to startups in the Bay Area is good, but it's not great. The absolute number of interesting early stage startup places that you might work in Boulder or Denver is quite a bit lower. It actually is this incredible place to recruit if you can build up enough of critical mass to get people to leave those big organizations and join. But I think it's a really tough thing to build a great team at the Bay Area. Even if you're retaining your people, there's just all these exciting things happening all the time.
