What Is Game Design?
Game design is the act of deciding what a game should be, not just making one decision. Many games can be played without the use of computers or technology. Decisions about rules, look and feel, timing,. pacing, risk-taking, rewards, punishments and everything else the player experiences are the responsibility of the game designer. For this reason, the usually involved in the development of a game from the very beginning to the very end, makes decisions about how it should be developed. Let's turn that around: A game developer is anyone who has any involvement with the creation of the game at all - developers, writers, modellers, animators, musicians, producers and so on.
