The Potential Role of the Courts in Climate Change Lawsuits
No matter who prevails, it's likely this is going to be appealed to the state supreme court. We saw a comparable situation where the Supreme Court of the Netherlands ordered that country's government to greatly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. If the plaintiffs, in this case, we may see more litigation using similar theories in other places in the U.S.
