I think we may have had a sense of him as a more kind of isolated and mumkish and alienated figure than he actually was in life. We were already aware of some of the Kafka myth. But I think I soon went deeper into his life because I did read the old translations of the diaries and of letters and his sort of life documents all available in those translations. And yeah, most of the stories, most well-known stories.
