All civilizations have myths. They have some type of religious architecture that hypes people's emotions up and keeps them engaged with the project of life. Nietzsche points out that a profound thing happened in European civilization, where Christianity is a religion of truth. Art succeeding over truth and art pulling you forward towards living because living is wise or living least to success. And living least to actually all the good things like beauty and culture and health and all these types of things.
