Arms Race Coss

If it wasn't for arms races, animal adaptations would be nothing like so beautiful as they are. The phrase arms race coss is borrowed m from human arms races. Each side has to balance the cost of investing in the arms race against other things a creature could be doing with its time and energy. And both the presitor and the prey ar doing that. Both the parasite and the host are doing that well, exactly. It's an analogy that i don't mind using at all, because it's, it's each side having to balance the costs of servicing the arms race versus their own economy.
