The Politics of AI Ethics

I think the most powerful thing that's kind of keeping AI in check is sort of like it's accidentally antagonized sort of like the worst people. The people who call themselves a safety I think are kind of factually wrong, but have basically legitimate moral concerns and have good kind of moral frameworks for dealing with the world. Whereas the people who are AI who call themselves AI ethicists are really just theworst people. That to me is kind of the epitome of the ethics people - they're desperately trying to protect their optics. It hasn't been done already; maybe I should reach out to every EA club or something. You know, DC is an inherently like pretty left-wing area
